Find your perfect spot beneath ancient oaks or along the Eerste River’s banks. Our farm-fresh picnics celebrate seasonal ingredients from our gardens and trusted local producers. Build your own from the Picnickery, or order 24 hours ahead and we’ll prepare everything for you – from blankets to baskets brimming with goodness. Our carefully curated baskets offer choices for every taste, including vegan and children’s options.

Laze under the ancient oaks of our historic farmyard, the Werf, or head to the Riverside picnic area to relax on the grassy banks of the dam, surrounded by boulders and birdsong.
Share a picnic basket this Easter
Make memories with loved ones this Easter – what better way to do that than by sharing fresh, nourishing food straight from the farm and from our trusted local suppliers. Collect your basket from the Picnickery – remember you will need to order 24 hours before you arrive at the farm – lay down your blanket and celebrate the flavours of Easter. Open your basket to find freshly baked hot cross buns, tender miso roast lamb, flavoursome pickled fish and much more. We’re including a complimentary bottle of our award-winning Seaward wine with every double basket booked.

Time: Collection from 12:00
Cost: R650 per person; R350 per child under 12
- Order your picnic 24 hours in advance on Dineplan.
- Blankets, cutlery and glassware are included in your basket.
- Collection times for picnics are from 12:00 – 14:00, pick up your basket at the Picnickery. Baskets are to be returned by 16:30.
- We have limited inside seating available for rainy days.
- The picnic spaces are public; however, we can accommodate group bookings with a special set-up if booked in advance. Bookings for groups larger than 8 can be done by email to werf@spier.co.za.
- We have gone to great lengths to source local, natural and organic produce for our picnics and therefore do not allow private picnics.
- No own food and drinks are permitted on the farm. Thank you for your support.
