Find your perfect spot beneath ancient oaks or along the Eerste River’s banks. Our farm-fresh picnics celebrate seasonal ingredients from our gardens and trusted local producers. Build your own from the Picnickery, or order 24 hours ahead and we’ll prepare everything for you – from blankets to baskets brimming with goodness. Our carefully curated baskets offer choices for every taste, including vegan and children’s options.
Picnic Perfect
Laze under the ancient oaks of our historic farmyard, the Werf, or head to the Riverside picnic area to relax on the grassy banks of the dam, surrounded by boulders and birdsong.
Seasonal farm flavours
Our picnics change with the seasons, each basket a celebration of what’s fresh from our farm and food garden. Working closely with local producers who share our values, we create nourishing combinations that suit different dietary preferences, from our signature farm basket to thoughtful plant-based options.

- Having a party? Group bookings can be accommodated in semi-private areas if booked in advance.
- Blankets, cutlery and glassware are included in your basket.
- Collection times for picnics are from 12:00 – 14:00, pick up your basket at the Picnickery. Baskets are to be returned by 16:30.
- We have limited inside seating available for rainy days.
- The picnic spaces are public; however, we can accommodate group bookings with a special set-up if booked in advance. Bookings for groups larger than 8 can be done by email to werf@spier.co.za.
- We have gone to great lengths to source local, natural and organic produce for our picnics and therefore do not allow private picnics.
- No own food and drinks are permitted on the farm. Thank you for your support.
