Winemaker's Dinner: Mastering Chenin
There’s something truly special about gathering around good food and wine – especially when it’s cold outside. Our 2025 Winemaker’s Dinner Series once again opens the doors to the beautifully restored Spier Manor for six intimate evenings with the people who walk the vineyards and work in the cellar vintage after vintage.
Limited to just 22 guests seated at one long table, each dinner focuses on a single grape variety showcased in all its versatile forms. Each varietal voyage is paired with a four-course meal drawing inspiration from the farm’s seasonal bounty, much of it sourced directly from our farm.

What to expect
Join our Cellar Master Johan Jordaan as he pours the wines that recently earned him the coveted title of Chenin Blanc Master Winemaker in Paris. Johan will share stories from the vineyards and cellar while guiding you through a selection that ranges from our vibrant, gold medal-winning Good Natured Chenin to the layered complexity of our 21 Gables. We’ve paired these wines with autumn dishes that speak to our Cape heritage – tender East African lamb and aromatic Cape Malay risotto. It’s an evening to celebrate what grows from our soil, told through the voice of the person who knows these wines best.
