Spier History – Sannie’s Story (15 minutes)
Journey through time around our historic Werf, guided by Sannie de Goede, a slave woman on the eve of her freedom in 1836. This poignant narrative, researched and crafted by acclaimed playwright Brett Bailey, offers an intimate glimpse into life on a Stellenbosch wine farm 200 years ago.
Farm Walk (60 minutes)
Wander beneath ancient coral trees on this circular route, discovering centuries of stories. Be guided past the 1822 Spier Manor and through indigenous gardens, revealing our environmental, social and architectural heritage. Start the walk at the Hotel or Spier Tasting, comfortable walking shoes recommended.
Art Walk (20 minutes)
Let Mariota Enthoven, Spier family owner, guide you through our living farm. This audio journey begins at the Hotel or Spier Tasting entrance, weaving together stories of art, wine, and heritage. Discover our commitment to regenerative agriculture through organic farming practices, ecosystem rehabilitation, and innovative water conservation.
