Standard Rooms

Standard rooms are spacious at 60 m² with large comfortable beds that invite guests to relax and enjoy the quiet country atmosphere. The rooms are beautifully but simply appointed, with quality as the key to the décor. Every room includes artworks from the Spier Collection, giving each a touch of individuality. The en suite bathrooms incorporate a large bath and a separate shower. Each room has its own TV with satellite channels to choose from and a shaded outdoor patio where you can unwind with a glass of wine.

The following facilities can be found in a standard room:

Superior Rooms

Superior Rooms

Ten rooms selected for their prime positioning are designed to include exquisite décor and fittings, and special services.

In addition to the features of the Standard Rooms, additional facilities are available such as a fully stocked mini bar for private entertaining, free access to Spier's Wi-Fi service, daily delivery of newspapers, special turndown and iPod docking facilities, amongst other tempting benefits.  Each of the rooms offers a view of the Eerste River and the picturesque Spier surrounds.

Suite 601

Suite 601

Each of the four spacious 110m² suites face the Eerste River and the Helderberg mountains, and has been individually designed to reflect Spier’s ethos and celebrate South African culture. The suites enjoy the services and facilities of the Standard Rooms and Superior Rooms.

Suite 601 is based on a neutral blue and white palette. It includes Xhosa fabrics and Eastern ceramics, celebrating the diversity of cultures that make up South African society.The paintings are by Louis Stroh and Gacganwa, and are from the Spier Art Collection.

This ground floor suite opens on to the gardens with an entertainment area, allowing guests the luxury of relaxing on huge wooden outdoor divans and appreciating the peace of the country setting.

Suite 602

Suite 602

Each of the four spacious 110m² suites face the Eerste River and the Helderberg mountains, and has been individually designed to reflect Spier’s ethos and celebrate South African culture. The suites enjoy the services and facilities of the Standard Rooms and Superior Rooms.

Suite 602 has been furnished with pieces by Gordon Rattey of Dream Chair. This furniture is made from driftwood found in nature. The interior choices complement a selection of etchings and pen and ink works from the Spier Collection. Artists include Dikuwele Paul Molete, Z Phetsone, Gabisile Enkosi, Lucas Bambo and Petros.

Suite 603

Suite 603

Suite 603 features a warm saffron colour and a subtle oriental feel, showcasing the influence of Eastern cultures on our society from the time when slaves were brought to South Africa from the East. The mosaics are by Kim Liebenberg and paintings are by Vandla Manyaza and are from the Spier Collection.

Suite 604

Suite 604

Each of the four spacious 110m² suites face the Eerste River and the Helderberg mountains, and has been individually designed to reflect Spier’s ethos and celebrate South African culture. The suites enjoy the services and facilities of the Standard Rooms and Superior Rooms.

Suite 604 showcases the best of craft design from South Africa. A selection of craft art with felt and beads has been created by local crafters, and a series of paintings by Diana Hyslop adorn the walls. Sculptures are by T Kubai. Reflecting Spier’s ethos to recycle, re-use and reinvent, the decor includes recycled furniture and a green patchwork sofa.
